Who We Are

CounterOfferAi ("we") helps candidates negotiate compensation. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we send it to, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions: email support@counterofferai.com.

What We Collect

• Account data — email address, and name and profile photo if you sign in with Google or Facebook.
• Profile data — name, headline, location, summary, skills, LinkedIn URL, work experience, and education.
• Compensation data — current and desired salary, bonus, equity, and any notes you add. This is sensitive; you choose what to enter, and you can leave any field blank.
• Documents — offer letters and resumes you upload, and any job-posting URL you supply (we fetch and read the public page at that URL).
• Free-text you write — accomplishments, goals, and personal context for each request.
• Payment data — handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we store Stripe's customer, charge, and subscription records for your account.
• Technical data — IP address (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention), and analytics events only if you accept analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy.

How We Use It

To create and secure your account, to generate the negotiation advice you ask for, to take payment, to send you transactional email (password resets, results, and a single follow-up about how your negotiation went), to prevent abuse of our paid AI endpoints, and to fix errors. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

AI Processing

Generating advice requires sending your request to Anthropic, our AI provider. The prompt includes your profile, work history, education, compensation figures, the text you wrote, and — for offer analysis and resume parsing — the document you uploaded. Anthropic processes this on our behalf as a service provider. No AI provider is given your data to train their models on. Advice is generated by a language model and can be wrong; see our Disclaimer.

Who We Share It With

• Anthropic — prompt contents, to generate your advice.
• Stripe — payment processing and billing records.
• Apple — transaction validation for purchases made in our iOS app.
• Resend — delivery of our transactional email.
• Sentry — error reports, which can include technical context about a failing request.
• Google Analytics — usage analytics, only after you accept analytics cookies.
• Your employer's job-posting site — if you supply a job-posting URL, we request that public page. We send no personal data in that request.

We also disclose data where the law requires it, and to a successor if the business is acquired.

Security and Retention

Data travels to and from our servers over HTTPS. Uploaded offer letters and resumes are removed from our storage once processing is complete; the resulting advice text stays on your account until you delete it. Account, profile, and request data is kept for as long as your account exists. Billing records are retained as long as tax and accounting rules require. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the EU/UK and the CCPA/CPRA in California — you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or limit how we use it, and you may not be discriminated against for asking. You can delete individual requests and your entire account from your dashboard at any time, which removes your profile, offers, raise requests, and uploaded documents. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. No opt-out is required, but you may still decline analytics cookies from our cookie banner.

Children

CounterOfferAi is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and we will tell you by email before any change that materially reduces your privacy.
